New Delhi: Reacting to the arrests of Rajya Sabha MP and former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh and former BJP MPs Faggan Singh Kulaste and Mahavir Singh Bhagora in the cash-for-votes scam, the then Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee said, "What happened on July 23 was bad and serious. It's a judicial process."
But the former Lok Sabha speaker insisted that MP's should have gone to Delhi Police or informed the matter to him first.
"Police should have been contacted immediately. FIR could have been lodged then and there, instead of creating all these paraphernalia," said Chatterjee.
