Uttarakhand's Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) Ram Singh Meena will receive the President's police medal on the occasion of Republic Day tomorrow for distinguished services. An IPS officer of 1989 batch, Meena served on important posts in undivided Uttar Pradesh and then in Uttarakhand, especially in its crime infested districts and holds an excellent track record, a press release issued on the eve of Republic Day by the state police headquarters said today. A total of seven police officers from Uttarakhand, including DIG Amit Kumar Sinha and and DIG (Dehradun range) Sanjay Kumar Gunjyal, have been honoured for their meritorious services this year.
