Bihar Police: Patna: हल्के से मत लेना, अब बिहार पुलिस भी हुई हाईटेक, पटना ट्रैफिक पुलिस की बेवसाइट लॉन्च..

PATNA: The Patna Traffic Police on Saturday launched its website - www.patnatrafficpolice.in - so that Patnaites can get information about the position of different roads. Patna SSP Alok Kumar said that one can go to this website to know about traffic congestion and get other information about traffic system. "One can save himself from traffic jam and take another route to reach his destination after getting in touch with the website," he said. The website would also provide information about penalties for different traffic offences, he said and added that a Traffic Helpline number - 2219543 - has also been launched. It would be functional 24X7. The SSP said that one can give advice or lodge any complaint online.
As per district transport officer (DTO), Patna, 5,36,514 two-wheelers, 38,876 auto-rickshaws, 1,61,360 four-wheelers of all types and 48,139 buses, trucks and other heavy vehicles had been registered. Altogether, 7,84,889 vehicles had been registered in Patna district alone. About 80,000 rickshaws are plying in the city, while on an average 75,000 vehicles ply in the city daily. The SSP said four CCTVs would be installed at Dak Bungalow Crossing, Exhibition Road, Income-Tax roundabout and Patna Junction roundabout in the coming days. He advised the people of the city to use lanes and by-lanes to save themselves from traffic jams in the city as it would consume less time and reduce distance also. "By changing routes, they can easily reach their destination without getting stuck in traffic jams," he said. The SSP said that foreign section of the Patna Police has also developed its own website - www.fro.patnapolice.com - for its smooth functioning. It would help the applicants in getting latest information and ensure transparency in the working of police, he said

MUMBAI: Top police officials today took stock of security arrangements at the MMRDA ground, where CCTVs, metal detectors besides barricades will be installed for Anna Hazare's three-day fast from December 27 demanding a stronger Lokpal bill. "They have agreed to install CCTVs, metal detectors and ground barricades at the venue. They will start work by tonight or tomorrow morning and the ground will be ready by evening on December 26," DCP Saytya Narayan Choudhary told reporters at the ground. Joint Commissioner (Law and Order) Rajnish Sheth also visited the ground earlier in the day. "We have given them some Dos and Don'ts," said a police source adding final inspection of the ground would be conducted on Monday. Meanwhile, the police have also asked the organisers to slightly modify the layout plan. "Since Anna has Z+ security, police have asked us to make some changes in the layout plan," said an Anna aide.

दिल्ली की एक अदालत ने अन्ना हजारे और उनकी टीम के सदस्यों के खिलाफ इस वर्ष अगस्त महीने में भ्रष्टाचार के खिलाफ आंदोलन के दौरान तिरंगा का अपमान करने संबंधी शिकायत पर कोई स्पष्ट रुख नहीं लेने के लिए दिल्ली पुलिस की खिंचाई की.
मेट्रोपॉलिटन मजिस्ट्रेट त्यागिता सिंह ने शिकायत पर रिपोर्ट जल्द दायर करने के निर्देश देते हुए कहा, ‘इसमें इतना समय क्यों लग रहा है? मुझे वह सही तिथि बताइये जब इस संबंध में रिपोर्ट दायर की जाएगी.’ पुलिस ने पहले कहा था कि उसने अपनी अभियोजन शाखा से शिकायत पर कानूनी राय मांगी है. उधर, पुलिस ने कहा, ‘इस संबंध में अभियोजन शाखा की ओर प्राप्त रिपोर्ट में यह स्पष्ट नहीं है कि अपराध हुआ या नहीं.’ पुलिस ने कहा, ‘इसलिए इस मामले विशेष राय के लिए इसे फिर से अभियोजन शाखा को भेज दिया गया है. इस मामले में आगे की कार्रवाई राय प्राप्त होने के पश्चात की जाएगी.’ अदालत ने अपने आदेश में कहा, ‘जांच अधिकारी ने अभी तक स्थिति रिपोर्ट नहीं दायर की है और कहा है कि अधिक समय की आवश्यकता है क्योंकि रिपोर्ट पर कानूनी राय के लिए उसे अभियोजन शाखा को भेजा गया है. मामले में तेजी लाने की आवश्यकता है. रिपोर्ट जितनी जल्द हो सके दायर करिये.’

The Satara police have booked Sub-Inspector Jayant Yashwant Jadhav (33), attached to Force One Mumbai, an elite anti-terror commando unit of Maharashtra police, on charges of destruction to public property and endangering personal safety of the public on Wednesday. Jadhav, who was in an inebriated condition, went on a windshield-smashing spree in the wee hours of Wednesday and damaged windshields of at least 27 vehicles parked in Satara city.
Angry over his bizarre act, the vehicle owners bashed up the cop and later handed him over to the police. He is currently recuperating in a private hospital in the city. According to the Satara city inspector Dayanand Dome, Jadhav was on a two-day holiday to his ancestral home in Songaon. Driving to the scene of the crime in a Scorpio, he began smashing the windshields of parked vehicles with a wooden stick. Jadhav even threw stones at the vehicles, damaging not only cars but also buses parked from Shivraj Petrol Pump to Bogada area in Satara.

A 55-year-old Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Delhi Police allegedly shot at another policeman over a dispute involving dumping of garbage near the latter’s house. Ramnath Upadhyay, who is accused of firing at Head Constable Satendra Khokhar (36) with the latter’s service revolver, has been arrested. Khokhar is recuperating in Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. According to officials, the incident occurred at 8.30 am in Chajjupur, Welcome, after the two police personnel reportedly started arguing over disposal of kitchen waste. “At 9 am, the police received a call that Ramnath had shot at his neighbour, Satendra, after they had an argument over disposal of garbage near his house. Ramnath is under arrest, and a case of attempted murder has been registered against him under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) Sanjay Jain.

MUMBAI: An assistant inspector of the Kurla police station has done the force proud by winning two gold medals at the Commonwealth International Power lifting and Bench press Championship held in London last week.
Kalpana Sawant (40), who has been bench pressing and power lifting for the last 20 years, lives in Kalachowki with her three sisters and practises in Goregaon with a private trainer every morning for three hours. "I was an athlete in college and entered the police force because of this hobby. The service has helped me hone my skills and I have been able to achieve a lot because of the support of my seniors," Sawant said.
