Maharastra Police: महाराष्ट्र में सभी पुलिसवालों को अपनी संपत्ति का ब्यौरा देना होगा..
MUMBAI: Like IPS officials, police officers of the Maharashtra state cadre (from rank of deputy superintendent of police to sub-inspector) will also have to file their immovable property returns every year. According to the existing norms, the state cadre officers have to file immovable assets' returns once in five years.
Admitting that not all policemen were clean, home minister R R Patil said, "Like other departments, there are a few 'black sheep' in the police department, too. To ensure more transparency in the system, I have asked the department to make changes in the existing rules for declaration of immovable assets. IPS officials file their immovable property returns every year. On similar lines, the state cadre police officers, too, will now have to file declare their assets annually."
Patil made the statement last week while replying to law and order debate on the last day of the assembly session which recently concluded in Nagpur.
