JABALPUR: Former MP Electricity Board (MPSEB) security and vigilance director and retired additional director general of police (ADGP) R N Pandey was Tuesday sentenced to one-year imprisonment and five other persons of a private hotel in Bhopal too were awarded six months imprisonment in a forgery case by a local court.
Special Court Judge Pradhuman Singh also imposed fines of Rs. 2.97 lakh on Pandey and Rs. 1000 each on Shakti Singh Bhadoria, Surendra Pathak, S N Rana Mazhar Ansari, and BS Jadon all working with the private hotel in the state capital who had issued fake lodging bills to Pandey to claim travel allowances.
The special police establishment (SPE) of Lokayukta during investigation of a complaint found Pandey that had furnished fake bills to MPEB to claim for travel allowance for visits he didn't undertake between years 1998 and 2000. Later, Pandey got bail from the court.
