PATNA: The paucity of IPS officers in the state eased a little with the Centre notifying promotion of 13 officers of Bihar Police Service to IPS rank on August 30, 2011.
The officers who have been allotted 2007 batch of IPS are Dayanand Kumar (commandant, BMP-3, Bodh Gaya), Asgar Imam, (SP, special branch), Sudhir Kumar (SP, vigilance), Prakash Kumar Sinha (SP, Sheohar) and Ajit Kumar Rai (SP, home guards).
Those allotted 2008 batch of IPS are Md. Mansoor Ahmad (SP, CID), Md Rahman (SP, Saharsa), Mithu Prasad (SP, Khagaria), Sukan Paswan (SRP, Katihar), Vinod Kumar 2 (SP, Supaul), Saurabh Kumar (SP, Madhepura), Varun Kumar Sinha (SP, Samastipur) and Chandrika Prasad (SP, Jehanabad).
